รายงานการประชุมเมื่อวันที่ 11 October 03
การประชุมเริ่มต้นด้วยคุณหมอเธียร และคุณหมอวิไลวรรณ ธาริน ประธานกรรมการจัดงาน 40 ปี ราตรีอ่างแก้ว รายงานให้ที่ประชุมทราบถึงการที่คณะกรรมการจัดงานจำนวน 5 คนได้เดินทางไปเชียงใหม่ ในระหว่างวันที่ 24 – 26 September ที่ผ่านมา เพื่อซื้อ อุปกรณ์สำหรับการจัดงาน มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ได้ให้การต้อนรับ คณะที่เดินทางไปอย่างอบอุ่น โดยผศ ดร พงษ์ศักดิ์ อังกสิทธิ์ และรศ ธีระ วิสิทธิ์พานิชย์ รองอธิการบดีมารับที่สนามบิน จัดยานพาหนะให้ชาวคณะมีความสดวกในการไปจัดซื้ออุปกรณ์ต่างๆตลอดเวลาที่อยู่ในเชียงใหม่ ทางคณะได้เข้าเยี่ยมพบ ผศ ดร นิพนธ์ ตุวานนท์ ที่สำนักอธิการบดี และได้เรียนเชิญท่านอธิการบดีให้มาร่วม งานกับพวกเราในวันที่ 6 March 2004 ด้วย ท่านอธิการบดีได้นำคณะไปชมผลงานจากโครงการปรับปรุงผ้าฝ้ายแกมไหมของสถาบันวิจัยและพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีมหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ โดยมีอาจารย์ ผศ ดร สุ ชาติ จิระพรเจริญ เป็นผู้บรรยาย ท่านอธิการบดีได้อนุญาติให้นำตัว อย่างผ้าฝ้ายแกมไหมมาโชว์ในงานของเราด้วย จากนั้นท่านอธิการ บดีได้นำคณะไปเยี่ยมพบอาจารย์วิถี พานิชพันธ์ รองคณบดีคณะวิจิตรศิลป์ เพื่อขอคำปรึกษาเกี่ยวกับรายการแสดงต่างๆ ซึ่งเป็นที่น่ายินดีที่อาจารย์วิถีตอบรับคำเชิญของคณะกรรมการที่จะนำผู้แสดงจากคณะวิจิตรศิลป์มาแสดงในงานของเรา การเดินทางมาเชียงใหม่ครั้งนี้ประสพความสำเร็จเกินความคาดหมาย ทางสมาคม และโดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งคณะผู้ได้เดินทางไปทุกท่าน ขอกราบขอบพระคุณ ท่านอธิการบดี ท่านรองอธิการบดีทั้งสองท่าน รวมทั้งเจ้าหน้าที่ของทางมหาวิทยาลัยทุกท่าน ที่ให้การต้อนรับพวกเราอย่างดีเยี่ยม เราหวังเป็นอย่างยิ่งว่าจะได้มีโอกาสต้อนรับท่านอาจารย์ที่ LA
บ้าง โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในวันงาน 40 ปี ราตรีอ่างแก้วนี้จากนั้นที่ประชุมได้รายงานความคืบหน้าของการเตรียมการจัดงานให้ประธานกรรมการจัดงานทั้งสองท่านทราบ การเตรียมการทุกๆด้านคืบหน้าไปด้วยดี เป็นไปตามแผนงานที่วางไว้
The Khuntoke Dinner party organizers held a monthly progress meeting at Krua Thai Restaurant on Saturday, October 11, 2003. The organizer chairmen, Dr. Thien and Dr. Vilaivan Tarin, informed the attendance of the recent trip made by a group of five Alumni members to Chiangmai in late September. The group was impressed by the hospitality they received from the University. They were greeted by the Assistant Dean, Dr. Pongsak Ankasit and Professor Teera Visitpanich at Chiangmai airport when they arrived. Transportation was provided for the group throughout their stay in Chiangmai. This was a big help since the group had to travel extensively to purchase items for the Khuntoke dinner.
The Dean of CMU, Dr. Nipont Tuvanont arranged a presentation on the research to improve production & quality of Thai cotton-silk. Dr. Suchart Jiraporncharoen, the Deputy Director of the Institute for Science & Technology Reserch & Development at Chiangmai University, conducted the presentation. The cotton-silks produced by the Institute were beautiful and first class in quality. Samples of the silks will be put on display at our party.
The most exciting news from the trip was that Professor Vithi Phanichphant, the Deputy Dean of the Fine Arts Faculty, accepted our invitation to bring Vichitsilpa performers to the United States for the main entertainment program at our party.
Dr. Thien and Dr. Vilaivun Tarin thanked the Dean of CMU, both of the Assistant Deans, and all their staff for their generosity and hospitality. The Dean and both of his assistants were officially invited to our party.
The rest of the meeting consisted of progress reports on the preparation for the upcoming Khuntoke party from the Unit Leaders. All tasks are on schedule.
